When the wonderful people at Gooseberry Patch contacted me about reviewing one of their newest cookbooks, I jumped at the chance once again. I have yet to find one of their cookbooks that I didn’t like. The title of the cookbook I’m currently reviewing is Sunday Dinner at Grandma’s . Now, when something has the words dinner and grandma’s in the title, it has to be good, right! Well, this is a great cookbook filled with all sorts of yummy comfort foods just in time for the change in weather.
The first recipe that I chose to make from this cookbook, was Martha’s Brownie Bars. We love brownies in our house. Our favorites are the kind that come out of the box from Pillsbury;). I know what you are thinking. This is a cooking blog and she doesn’t make everything from scratch? Nope. Every once in a while it’s nice just to whip something together really fast and Pillsbury brownies do not disappoint.
I don’t know who Martha is, but she sure does now how to make some delicious brownies! These brownies were just about as simple to make as the Pillsbury dough boy’s.
These were some of the softest brownies I have ever had. I was surprised when the title of the recipe said Brownie Bars, but there wasn’t any chocolate in them, but even without chocolate they were finger licking good!
Mix up a batch of these quick and yummy brownies the next time your family is craving something sweet. Most of the ingredients are probably already in your pantry!
