Christmas is right around the corner and I don’t know about you, but my favorite holiday party is one that serves appetizers! I could make a meal out of them! These Crockpot Christmas Cocktail Wieners from Gooseberry Patch’s cookbook, Christmas at Grandma’s, will be a hit at your next holiday gathering!
Since I am a mom to 3 girls, I always try to bring something that is kid friendly. I don’t expect the hostess’ to plan their menu around kids. This recipe has horseradish in it, so I was worried it might be too spicy for the kids, or have a “funny taste,” but the kids loved them! Even though these have the word Christmas in the title, you can make them anytime.
Plus, did I mention you can toss these bad boys in the crockpot? Yep! Put the weiners in the crockpot. Combine the brown sugar, ketchup, and horseradish in a bowl. Pour over wieners and stir gently to coat. Let them cook while you get ready for the party and they will stay warm AT the party for those late night munchies;).
Crockpot Christmas Cocktail Wieners
I used my 6 qt. Hamilton Beach crockpot for this recipe. You could probably use a smaller size, but I used what I had on hand. I love that this crockpot has a locking lid for travel. No more spills in the car!
Yum! I wish I had a batch in the crockpot right now!
