It’s almost Halloween and that means all things spooky and sweet! This DIY Halloween Candy Dish is the perfect place to stash all your sweet Halloween candy for Trick-or-Treaters.
Fall is probably my most favorite season to make crafts. I love the rustic feel of all the crafts.
We live out in the country, so we don’t get very many trick-or-treaters. We maybe have 4. Trick-or-Treating to us means spending 6 hours driving to 5 different houses. They are usually grandparents and aunts and uncles and we spend more time visiting than anything else, but that’s one of the things that makes country living so special. I didn’t know any different growing up and, until a few years ago, our girls didn’t either.
Brad was in the fields and I decided to take them to town to go door-to-door for something to do(we went to family’s homes a couple days before.) They loved it and I loved seeing so many people I knew. Now, we usually hit up a few houses in town (you know, the ones that have the good stuff:)) and then visit with family.
This project is so easy and only requires a few items.
You will need:
1 4″ Terra Cotta clay flower pot
Krylon Black Lava Marbelizing Spray
And of course….CANDY!!!!
Begin by spray painting the pot and saucer with orange spray paint and let dry completely. Yes, the pot and saucer are already orange, but you want a deeper orange color.
Once the orange paint is dry, add the marbelizing spray. Think of this as grown up silly string that is permanent. This stuff is so fun, but a practice run may be needed before doing the real deal! Allow this to dry.
Once the marbelizing spray is dry, add a coat or two of the clear acrylic spray and allow to dry.
Lastly, add the E6000 glue to the bottom of the 4″ clay pot and place the saucer on top, making sure it is in the center.
Once the glue is dry, add the candy!
I suggest using only packaged candy for this since it is spray painted. It would also look adorable with cookies on it, but again with spray paint I don’t recommend it.
