St. Patrick’s Day is about a month away. Didn’t we just celebrate Christmas and the start of a new year?! I guess, it’s true that time flies when you are having fun…or when you get older;) I love all the bright colors that go with St. Patrick’s Day, so this easy to make paper rainbow was the perfect craft.
Our winter is quicky turning into blah around here. It was fun, but now it needs to go bye-bye. We have managed to remain pretty healthy around here this winter(knock on wood), but we did get our first real round of sickness this past weekend. Jo was the first to come down with the stomach bug, which surprised me as I was sure her sisters would pick something up at school first. Then I was next. Yuck. So far, everyone else is healthy and I hope it stays that way! All that said, we are ready for some spring-like weather and colors, so these paper rainbows certainly brighten up the days around here.
Paper Rainbow Craft
For this craft you will need: white school glue, white construction paper, cotton balls, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet crepe paper(I wasn’t able to find violet/purple crepe paper, so we used pink instead).
First cut a cloud shape from the white construction paper.
Next glue the cotton balls to the cloud using white school glue.
Cut pieces of crepe paper that are the same length. They can be as long or as short as you want them to be.
Finally, flip the cloud over and glue the strips of crepe paper in rainbow order, to the back of the cloud.
This craft is so simple and while I thought only Jo would enjoy making it, B and Mel enjoyed making it as well. Sometimes the simplest things are the most fun!
